With the grace of God this site is dedicated to witnessing to the truth about the Greek Orthodox Church in Adelaide, South Australia.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, before his crucifixion, prayed to His heavenly Father asking that His disciples be one, just as He and His Father are one (John 17:20-23). This is the prayer of all true Christians. It is for this reason that we confess in our Creed that we believe “in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church” in which we are saved.
All faithful Orthodox Christians blessed to be living in the “City of Churches”, Adelaide, are a continuation of the Church established by Christ and kept alive by the presence of the Holy Spirit. In Adelaide this Church is manifested in a communion of local Churches that are headed by a bishop that is in communion with all other Orthodox bishops across the world. In Adelaide the only current canonical Greek Orthodox bishop is His Grace Bishop Nikandros of Dorylaeon, who is an assistant bishop to His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.
And first of all, remember your Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church which you have purchased with your precious blood. Confirm and strengthen it, enlarge and multiply it, keep it in peace and preserve it unconquerable by the gates of hell forever. Heal the schisms of the Churches, quench the ragings of the heathen, speedily undo and root out the growths of heresies and bring them to nought by the power of your Holy Spirit.
